Departure

With less than 24 hours to go, I am really getting excited. Most of my preparations are taken care of and there are just a few things left to knock out before I hop on a plane tomorrow morning.

The itinerary is to fly to Honolulu, HI on Saturday, spend a few days provisioning the boat, doing some day sailing and waiting for a break in the weather to cast off to the open ocean.

I, my father and two seasoned sailors are attempting passage between Hawaii and Gisborne, New Zealand over the next 6 weeks on a 41' Morgan Classic sailboat. I'll do my best to snap and post some pictures before we shove off. We plan to periodically communicate by sending email over a satellite data connection. Bethany has kindly volunteered post any relevant information of our progress on this blog.

Here we go!
